Social Impact and Sustainability

Living our values at work and in our community.

Making a difference where we live.

Our charitable foundations and trusts donate $2 million to charities each year, and we encourage and support our associates' efforts to impact their communities through donations, fundraising, and volunteer activities. Some examples:

  • Supporting an annual holiday drive that helps local families

  • Matching associate donations to organizations of their choice

  • Our associates serve on the boards of more than 70 non-profit organizations

And in the broader world.

Guided by our core values and our commitment to STEM, we work to minimize our own and our customers' impact on the environment by:

  • Recycling 18 million pounds of metal scrap per year along with our paper, plastics, pallets,
    cardboard, and Styrofoam™

  • Reusing coolants, lubricants, and solvents

  • Using energy-efficient lighting and equipment

  • Using native plantings and environmentally-friendly fertilizer and weed control

  • Keeping more than 50% of our general waste out of landfills

  • Helping customers reduce emissions and reach their sustainability goals
