Position Summary:

The senior program manager defines and directly participates in the development of departmental, functional, and enterprise strategy and best practices, making appropriate improvements to the processes, systems, products, and services of the business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the annual planning process working with Finance, Roadmap owners, Department PMO Chairs, and the executive team to assemble the overall project portfolio and determine the corporate strategic project portfolio
  • Integrate Demand Management into the overall EPO framework for integrated project and portfolio management
  • Govern the Enterprise process model for the organization. Ensure the model stays healthy and work with team to grow, enhance, and strengthen process ownership across the organization, including performing PDL responsibilities for the EPO’s Strategy & Planning processes
  • Partner with the Data Governance team to build an even stronger relationship and link between process and data within the organization
  • Work with the other areas of the EPO to build a corporate environment where associates deliver results through holistic & integrated methods & tools that provide clarity, alignment and situation flexibility
  • Initiates and guides the evolution and/or development of Swagelok project management methodologies, ensuring the development of deep and broad project and program management skills
  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
  • Develops innovative services, technologies, processes, or products that address current and future customer problems or needs
  • Presents complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others to adopt a different point of view
  • Makes decisions within general functional, company, and industry guidelines
  • Develops business or technical rationale that impacts resource allocation, program, project, or service support or direction
  • Works with senior management to manage the inter-dependencies of multiple mission-critical projects and/or programs
  • Develops approach and strategy for maximizing enterprise objectives across the enterprise portfolio of projects and programs
  • Works with senior management to align resources across multiple projects and/or programs
  • Shares and continually enhances deep technical knowledge and expertise of own functional area and Swagelok
  • Teaches others about the identification of patterns and trends in data and is utilized throughout the organization to effectively solve problems
  • Educates Swagelok on the latest trends and forecasts in their functional area and ensures Swagelok capitalizes on them
  • Fosters an environment that values the external as well as the internal perspective
  • Applies Swagelok knowledge and industry expertise to develop working papers and articles to educate colleagues and customers on industry trends
  • Advises customers and colleagues on the potential impact of trends and external business pressures in light of their business strategy and applications
  • Ensures colleagues/customers experience a one stop shop by anticipating colleague/customer needs and ensuring Swagelok is poised to meet them

Education and/or Work Experience:

Required:

Education/Experience: 

  • College or university degree typically required or equivalent work experience that has provided 4+ years of leading complex corporate projects and programs spanning multiple groups within the enterprise

 

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Has expert knowledge and insight of the theories, methodologies, practices, and procedures related to project and risk management
  • Fully capable of understanding and analyzing data trends
  • Expert awareness of industries served and product applications
  • Has developed breadth of knowledge about the enterprise’s business processes
  • Fully capable of performing effectively with limited supervision
  • Full understanding of the dynamic business environment in which decisions are made
