Senior Payroll Tax Analyst

Position Summary:

The Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for the reconciliation of the payroll tax area.  The position identifies, analyzes, controls, calculates, prepares, audits and maintains statutory requirements for US Federal, State and Local tax authorities.  The Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for all tax filings on a pay period, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, including W-2’s.  This position will work with the Sr. Payroll Analyst to ensure all statutory requirements are in the system and working properly. 

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with Sr. Payroll Analyst to maintain withholding tax calculations and rules within system
  • Reconciles pay period, monthly, quarterly and annual tax calculations.
  • Pay period, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, both paper and electronic filing requirements
  • Monitors the taxability impacts of cafeteria benefit plans, retirement plans and other company plans
  • Rules for garnishments, tax levies and child support payments
  • Reciprocity between States
  • State unemployment (SUI) wage bases and rates
  • Other related statutory requirements having payroll, payroll tax and payroll tax reporting impact; including actively researching new or pending legislation for potential changes, analyzing and communicating associate impacts
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related area of stufy preferred
  • Preferred 3-5 years of payroll experience 
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll rules and IRS regulations
  • Payroll Tax regulation knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll tax
  • Intermediate to advance MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects
  • Changing priorities and be deadline sensitive
  • Excellent  communication, analytical and mathematical skills, along with the ability to problem solve
  • Self-Starter who works independently as well as in a team setting
