Senior CAD Tech

Performs multiple CAD related assignments of moderate to complex scope with minimal guidance from supervisor, engineers, technicians, or detailed procedures. Selects or adapts standard procedures for assignments to efficiently produce accurate CAD elements. Evaluates and analyzes information to determine effect of proposed changes. Is a resource to the facility, providing support and problems solving in areas of expertise.

 

  • Create, update and/or interpret and define moderately complex CAD models, drawings and assemblies as required.
  • Train technicians and non-technical associates. Will review the work of other technicians. Can assist others through moderately complex tasks.
  • Serve as a resource for manufacturing and assembly operations as needed for specific product questions.
  • Present information to others within and outside Swagelok on a fundamental level.
  • Develop and/or analyze new or changed products/processes for basic effect on product definition
  • Recommends solutions for standard problems (software, hardware, equipment, products, processes)
  • Draft plans for testing of concepts, design changes or project milestone completions to be reviewed by engineering or project leader.
  • Utilize systems to perform duties and process changes to products/procedures.
  • May assist with capital equipment justifications, procurement or quoting costs.
  • May conduct and/or defines moderately complex tests and set-ups.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous drafting experience in any CAD software package.
  • Proficient user of moderately technical tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Some technical courses or on the job training in related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in related field
  • Recognized as resource in areas of expertise
  • Demonstrates proficient programming and troubleshooting skills
  • Good computer and typical office software skills

 

Preferred :

  • Direct work experience leveraging SOLIDWORKS software
