Position Summary:

Our Semiconductor Market Manager position is responsible for increasing market share and long-term distributor revenue in a the semiconductor market. We are looking for a super curious, intellectual, and outgoing semiconductor professional.  We need critical thinking skills and an industry subject matter expert. We need your drive, inquisitiveness and passion around being out and talking to people, learning, and synthesizing information to propel us forward to help us continue to win in the marketplace! 


This position partners with Product Managers and Sales Support to guide efforts to increase sales to distributors and gross margin. The results are accomplished by: 1) developing a target market plan that directs Swagelok and sales and service center activities to increase market share and long-term sales to customers to select the best opportunities to focus resources on and is aligned with Swagelok commercial, manufacturing, and planning strategies. 2) ensuring that the company’s product, service, and application solutions offerings, promotional plan, and pricing for this market retain and grow sales to end-users in the 3-5 year time horizon, and 3) developing and updating market forecasts and trends in the 1-5 year timeframe that enable labor, capacity, and inventory planning. The market manager may supervise market specialists or associate market managers. They will work with a variety of commercial, operations, engineering, planning, sales and service center (SSC), customers, and industry experts to gain insight, provide vision, guidance, and direction in the development and execution of marketing plans for the target market.


Essential Duties & Responsibilites:

•   Function as the strategic leader of how Swagelok defines, plans, and wins in the semiconductor market. 
•    Seek out insight from our Sales & Service Centers (SSC), customers, industry resources, and competitors to articulate current and future market trends. Develop and refine deep industry expertise
•    Work with commercial, operational, planning, and SSC resources to develop a shared strategy to win the semiconductor market
•    Draft and update market plans that include roadmaps for products, application solutions, services, promotion, and pricing that direct internal and channel resources on a clear strategy to win in the market. 
•    Develop and update market forecasts and trends in the 1–5 year timeframe that enable labor, capacity, and inventory planning.
•    Grow customer sales of products, services, and applications into the market by deploying the strategies defined in the market plan.
•    Identify, define and quantify specific market opportunities and threats, including a deep understanding of competitors and competitive forces. Predict and understand competitors’ actions.
•    Promote and enhance Swagelok’s image and reputation as the semiconductor market leader, developing and maintaining high-level relationships with key industry and customer contacts.
•    Present the needs and Voice of the Market to the organization.

•   Develop an integrated marketing communications plan which details the strategies and tactics for our promotional activities.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements


•    BS/BA in Engineering, Marketing, or related field. MBA recommended.

•    8+ years of experience in the Semiconductor market preferred with substantial responsibility, including contact with various industry firms
•    Formal marketing experience. 
•    In-depth knowledge of the target market, including customers, suppliers, competitors, key associates, products, applications, and technology 
•    A portion of previous experience may be from a Swagelok Sales and Service Center 

•    Ability to assimilate and synthesize market-related information from various sources into a cohesive plan

•    Strong strategic, influencing, and decision-making skills/abilities

•    Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•    Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, including senior management, and quickly build rapport
•    Ability to present and speak persuasively with executives, Swagelok SSCs associates, and external market leaders
