Position Summary:

Our On-The-Job Manufacturing Trainer is responsible for the training and skill development of our new hourly associates in areas such as assembly, machining, welding; assists with the creation of new course materials, updates existing training materials and programs, coordinates training events, delivers associate training, recommends improvements to training, and assesses training impact and effectiveness. This 1st shift role may be required to support 2nd shift as needed and will travel between Solon and Strongsville to support our expansion.    


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming evironment as a part of onboarding to our newest associates
  • Assist with instructional design and training development in an adult learning environment
  • Coordinate training schedules
  • Conduct training sessions
  • Develop strong relationships with all departments to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training
  • Formulate plan and determine instructional methods, such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops
  • Select and/or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and computer tutorials
  • Maintain accurate trainee records
  • Monitor, record, and evaluate training activities and program effectiveness
  • Assists in analyzing reports, training metrics, and training records for accuracy.
  • Participates on various project teams to develop new initiatives and programs aimed at improving organizational and associate effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Necessary Skills:

  • Ability to develop effective training materials for adult learners
  • Ability to suggest enhancements to existing training programs
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or graphic form
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-tasking environment, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to interact comfortably with associates at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and curriculum development techniques
  • Skill in writing reports and correspondence
  • Strong computer and assessment skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years related experience in training and/or manufacturing (assembly, machining, welding)
     

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, training, education, or related field
  • 3+ years related experience in manufacturing training

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Physical requirements associated with normal office working environment.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
