Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overall operations of a manufacturing campus and provides transformational leadership that inspires a high performing team within Swagelok operations.  The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for driving safety, quality, cost, service and people defined in the operations metric scorecard. The job requires cross-functional interaction with Environmental & Safety, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Finance and Equipment Reliability to ensure the Annual Operating Plan is achieved.  The position requires a large amount of responsibility and inspirational leadership in leading leaders and driving results with a large and diverse operations team.  The development of the Manufacturing Campus’ Leadership and Technical capabilities are a key requirement of the Manufacturing Manager’s position.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Build a team of highly motivated leaders with a wide variety of skills and background to support an array of operational opportunities.
•    Partner with Operations, Quality Planning and product Engineering Managers to set an overall vision for the advancement of the manufacturing operation. 
•    Develop operating plan in accordance with corporate objectives and review projects and initiatives to ensure alignment.
•    Understands Continuous Improvement and lean manufacturing practices and how to use them to lead change and achieve results.
•    Determine capacity needs and implementation plan to meet forecasted production requirements. 
•    Drive and accomplish key performance indicators in quality, safety, cost, service and people swim lanes.
•    Develop and administer plant budget
•    Encourage strong communication of company values between departments, shifts, and site leaders through shop talks, anniversary talks, night shift visits, supervisor meetings, etc.
•    Promote and maintain an environment that aligns with the values of Swagelok.  
•    Ensures manufacturing operation compliance with HR policies, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, corporate environmental, safety, and housekeeping policies
•    As a leader, you are expected to know, enforce, and appropriately escalate all Swagelok associate policies.
Approximate # of direct reports (if applicable):  Direct:  2-8 Operations Managers and Lean Leaders. Indirect:  6-12 Supervisors, 200-800 shop floor associates 
Budget Responsibility (if applicable): Responsible for departmental budget

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

•    Bachelor’s degree 
•    10+ years in manufacturing and leadership
•    Experience leading a team of leaders
•    Experience creating and managing a plant budget

•    Previous experience managing a plant of 500+ associates
•    A strong understanding of the nature of manufacturing operations
•    An understanding of lean daily management system principles
•    Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, safety, cost, service or people
