Our Global Talent Manager leads the team responsible for implementing strategic objectives while advancing corporate talent and organization development initiatives by recommending, developing, implementing and managing the following on a global scale: talent management processes such as performance management and succession, leadership development programs coaching, high potential identification and development, team development, culture-building initiatives, and other learning opportunities to grow talent. This leader will serve as an internal consultant to senior leaders and their teams to ensure that the organization operates with forward-looking talent strategies, aligned to overall business objectives. As a member of the HR Leadership team, this leader will partner with the HR leaders, as well as the HR business partners, business leaders, associate resource groups, and 3rd party consultants. 

 

This role will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the enterprise-wide talent strategy as well as program development and deployment, including programs for developing, retaining and engaging talent, and strengthening leadership capabilities, ensuring relevance and acceptance across the business This position will serve as a thought leader for progressive talent management approaches  by staying informed of best practices and benchmarks and developing relevant approaches that are aligned with our values and business goals.  The incumbent will use his/her skills to work across the enterprise as well as deep dive with specific departments to identify needs and apply best practices. This is a role for an experienced professional accustomed to advising and influencing at the senior leadership level and collaborating globally with colleagues across an array of operational functions within and outside of HR and Swagelok as a whole.  

 

This position will lead a team of talent management and learning and development professionals, partner closely with the Manager, Global Diversity and Engagement, and report to the Director of Global Talent Management and Organizational Development.  


 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Global Leadership Development 

  • Develops strategy for talent management processes, priority setting, leadership development, individual contributor development and organizational talent reviews. 
  • Perform needs analysis to ensure that leadership development resources exist and are developed to support learning needs based on competencies, organizational changes, and other external factors.  Ability to identify leadership performance gaps to determine and develop solutions to meet strategic business objectives. 
  • Design enterprise leadership coaching and assessment strategy for all levels.  
  • Designs and facilitates leadership development programs to address the broad needs of Swagelok leaders in collaboration with Learning and Development, while strengthening diversity in the leadership pipeline 
  • Partners with external vendors to design or select leadership programs that support and drive the organization’s goals and objectives 
  • Identify and implement developmental plans based on company and individual needs by establishing coaching methodologies to fit the individual and their unique opportunities and supporting tangible performance improvements throughout the organization in partnership with external vendors. 

 

Global Workforce Planning and Succession Management 

  • Proactively identifies current and future needs and trends, shaping business and competency development to inform the evolution of innovative future talent development, succession planning, and retention solutions for the enterprise; the leader does this in close partnership and collaboration with other teams such as Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Total Rewards, HRBPs, etc. 
  • Leads the design, development and implementation of the talent review and succession planning process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent. Provides recommendations to senior leadership regarding the state of leadership talent, including succession plans and talent pools. Manage/deliver enterprise executive level high potential programs.  
  • Ensures organization and talent review practices align to the organization’s overall effort to mature from replacement planning to succession management for critical leadership positions. 
  • Develops initiates and maintains effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning. 

 

Global Performance, Capability and Competency Management  

  • Partners with HRIS to lead performance and succession-related system implementations and enhancements using best-in-class practices and philosophies. 
  • Manages the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, standards of performance and performance evaluation instruments. 
  • Leverages data to generate talent insights, help the organization make decisions and continuously improve the associate experience. 

 

Other Core Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop the team of talent management leadership development professionals. 
  • Leverage talent development initiatives to support our focus on an exceptional associate experience, aligned to our EVP.
  • Lead projects as prioritized in areas such as Talent Management, Culture and Engagement, OD, and various HR initiatives.  
  • Influence across a range of levels and disciplines as a trusted subject matter expert 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

 

Required: 

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business or Technology  

Experience:  10+ years professional experience in HR, training, talent management, Diversity and Inclusion or other related field  

 

Preferred: 

Education: Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Business 

Experience:  Prior experience designing and delivering talent management programs in a large organization. 10+ years preferred.  Experience in the following areas highly preferred:

  • Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, inspiring respect and credibility and ability to provide presentations to executive leaders 
  • Strong leadership capabilities to set a clear strategy, plan and align resources to ensure execution, while delivering a positive team culture and prioritizing team and individual development 
  • Have the ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence across the organization at all levels.  
  • Be knowledgeable of performance management/ organization development 
  • Be results driven, an innovative and creative problem solver 
  • Systems thinker; understanding of cause-and-effect relationships between business strategies, organization design and talent strategies, while leveraging data to gain insight and inform business decisions 
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership development, and associate engagement; Models diversity and inclusion awareness  
  • Ability to manage and work effectively within a matrix organization – quick information assimilation and understanding of contextual implications, appropriate project prioritization, effective communications, and leadership through influence.
