We are looking for an innovative self-starter expected to performs multiple assignments of moderate complexity with minimal guidance to help drive the success of new Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) products.  Works closely with peers in the requirement gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and technical support of products by leveraging processes, systems, tools and innovative technologies. Assignments require application of existing engineering principals.  Exercises judgment by identifying risk, providing alternatives, and recommending options.  Participates in large development teams, comprised of internal and/or third-party resources to design highly complex electro-mechanical and software systems. Operates independently with occasional guidance from supervisor or other engineers.

  • Develops electrical and software design concepts for products while working independently or with other engineers.
  • Develops designs and specification of products to meet customer expectations as defined in project contracts.
  • Support the development of electrical systems and embedded software design and implementation of connected controls and sensor leveraging wired and wireless protocols
  • Complete test plans to evaluate products.
  • Extracts and analyzes a variety of engineering data, working with other engineers as required.
  • Recommend improvements to documentation to support design and meet new product development requirements.
  • Interacts efficiently with other functional departments (mechanical, manufacturing, assembly, sourcing) to assure broad success of product design.

Required:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering plus appropriate continuous training
  • 2+ years of experience in work related field
  • Working knowledge of standard, and some advanced electrical components, magnetics, transformers, schematic design, integrated circuits, semiconductors, inverter type power systems, basic logic and beginner C++ programming skills
  • Advanced skills in use of 3-D CAD, electrical CAD and advanced testing and data capture equipment
  • Typically responsible for multiple project tasks of moderate complexity
  • Stays current with technology

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with typical office software skills

 

Desired:

  • Experience with PCB Layout, Electrical Schematic Design and PCB Repair & Modification
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of IIoT concepts & technologies
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of Modbus/TCP, Etherenet/IP, or other industrial Etherenet protocols
  • Virtualization: VMware
  • Programming/Scripting: Bash, Java, Javascript, Python, GIT, .net
