Position Summary:

The Channel Strategy Manager on the corporate communications team is a key connector and collaborator across organization in developing and implementing channel content strategies. (S)he brings a passion for planning, publishing, and optimizing content across Swagelok’s internal communications channels.  
This position reports to the director, corporate communications and is a key member of both Corporate Communications team, responsible for coaching and developing a team of communication professionals.
The Channel Strategy Manager builds constructive and effective relationships with internal business area clients, such as Human Resources, Operations, Distributor Support Services, IT, Supply Chain, and other corporate functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Channel Strategy
•    Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Communications on the overall content mission statement and planning of the content maps, key messages to engage the organization’s various associate audiences. 
•    Develop the plan and best practices for the creation, management, and governance of channel content, overseeing both editorial operations and maintaining content maps and editorial calendars.
•    Partner with IT for technology development, deployment, and optimization to meet identified goals and KPIs. 
•    Review and continuously improve content process and implement solutions to ensure that the team is functioning efficiently and delivering work that meets agreed upon standards. 
•    Plan, write, and edit channel content, ensuring it is clear, compelling, properly distributed across on-line and mobile platforms, and aligned with Swagelok’s core values, strategic plan, brand standards, and business priorities. 
•    Measure and assess content and channel effectiveness, optimizing and innovating to stay relevant to evolving audience needs
•    Manage outside vendor relationships, including identification of appropriate partners, qualification, definition of scope of work, and execution. Provide actionable, constructive feedback to vendors to ensure work is completed on time and on budget. 

Team Development
•    Coach and develop a high-functioning, multi-disciplinary team of professional communicators. 
•    Build relationships with key communications colleagues and partners/stakeholders to align efforts and improve associate experiences, reduce silos, and deliver communications in the best interests of associates.
•    Cultivate a mindset of curiosity, global awareness, inclusion, and change leadership across the team to drive effective communications solutions. 
•    Apply knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals. Leverage insights to shape and drive critical initiatives. Share industry developments with the team; helps them grasp business and industry fundamentals and understand how they contribute.
•    As a leader, you are expected to know, enforce, and appropriately escalate all Swagelok associate policies.

Approximate # of direct reports:  3+ (Total team size ~5)


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business.  
•    Minimum 7 years of related experience in communications role including integrated marketing communications role including digital/interactive marketing, online communications, website content development, 
•    Knowledge and experience developing strong, clear, and measurable communications strategies, goals and plans aligned with business priorities.
•    Experience managing digital/integrated communications strategies
•    Skilled with managing multiple communications channels (for example: website, email, social media, SEO, PR)
•    Demonstrated experience working with third party agencies and business partners
•    Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
•    Previous experience in manufacturing industry a plus. 
•    Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; articulate and comfortable with public speaking.
•    Prior consulting or customer services experience a plus.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

•    Physical requirements associated with normal office working environment. 
•    Ability to operate standard office equipment.
•    Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
•    Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
