Position Summary:

Our Business Communications Manager is a part of the global corporate communications team responsible for the effective development and execution of global internal communication strategies, goals, plans, messaging, and content aligned with Swagelok’s core values, strategic plan, brand standards, and business priorities. This role builds constructive and effective relationships with internal business area partners primarily with our Commercial organziation to provide communications counsel to internal partners, develops strategies and creates global associate and sales and service center-facing communications across a variety of content formats.  The role requires strong business acumen, writing, presentation, and storytelling skills, a willingness to learn, problem-solving abilities, consultative skills, and a positive attitude to work in a collaborative, team-based environment. 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Serve as primary contact for corporate business area managers and directors to identify communication needs and scope requests, including objectives, audience, impact, timing, and measurement to our commerical business. 

 
•    Deliver communications  that inform, excite, engage, and ultimately drive organizational change initiatives that deliver business results. Responsible for providing communications to support corporate initiatives and programs,  associate engagement, leadership messaging, and more.
•    Ensure the narratives for the different business areas’ storytelling remains consistent and impactful to the various associate audience(s) and effectively addresses global business opportunities. 
•    Collaborate with global leaders. to identify communications priorities for the organization and its associates. 
•    Plan, write and edit content, ensuring it is clear, compelling, and aligned with Swagelok’s core values, strategic plan, brand standards, and business priorities.
•    Support the editorial planning process by managing the cadence of recurring communications cycles, including executive messaging for assigned functional areas, quarterly business reviews, associate town halls, etc.
•    Manage outside vendor relationships, including identification of appropriate partners, qualification, definition of scope of work, and execution. Provide actionable, constructive feedback to vendors to ensure work is completed on time and on budget. 
•    Identify, track and report outcome-focused metrics, providing timely updates and translating insights into actionable activities.
•    Assist communications leadership and finance with budget creation and allocations.
 


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business.  MBA a plus.
•    Minimum 5 years of related experience in communications role including corporate communications or integrated marketing communications role including digital/interactive, online communications, website content development, and global sales or employee support. 
•    Proven ability to establish credibility as an expert capable of influencing and leading the development and implementation of communications strategies and plans.
•    Knowledge and experience developing strong, clear and measurable communications strategies, goals and plans aligned with business priorities.
•    Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
•    Strong presentation and speaking skills
•    Knowledge of change management principles
•    Previous experience in manufacturing industry a plus. 
•    Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; articulate and comfortable with public speaking.
•    Prior consulting or customer services experience a plus.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
•    Physical requirements associated with normal office working environment. 
•    Ability to operate standard office equipment.
