Position Summary:

Primarily responsible for management and accounting for fixed assets. Core responsibilities include review Capital Expenditure Form and provide accounting guidance on capitalization; maintain system files and necessary asset details/supporting data for both book and tax purposes, record and reconcile fixed assets to general ledger; ensure timely capitalization of all assets, work with capital project managers to ensure projects are closed on a timely basis.  Assist in developing standard policies and procedures in the fixed asset area and ensure that all locations throughout the organization are following these policies and procedures.  Provide assistance and analysis during the capital budgeting process. Prepare journal entries and assist in the monthly financial closing process and perform other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review Capital Expenditure Form and set up projects in SAP.
  • Provide accounting guidance and serve as liaison for manufacturing plants in capital requests.
  • Assure adherence to company capitalization policy and GAAP requirements.
  • Gather and review appropriate documentation related to transfers, additions and disposals; verify movement of the asset with operation and accurately record capital expenditures.
  • Work with capital project managers to closely monitor the status of the projects to ensure timely and accurate capitalization of fixed assets.
  • Verify costs associated with each capital project and perform settlement procedures related to the assets under construction and record new assets into SAP (along with the correct depreciation method, estimated life, property code, tax information, etc.)
  • Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
  • Prepare documentation and schedules to support internal and external audits.
  • Provide capital spending report and analysis to support management decision making and annual budget and forecast.
  • In charge of internal order administration, approval, and settlement at month end.
  • Responsible for accounting of intangible assets.
  • Maintain SAP fixed asset system.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing closing procedures and processes.
  • Prepare and assist monthly financial closing processes in other general accounting functions.
  • Assist fixed assets valuation related to acquisitions.
  • Support management and senior accountants in various projects and tasks necessary to meet departmental goals or objectives.


Scope:   Up to 10% travel time


Education and/or Work Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or B.A. with major in accounting)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a general accounting environment
  • General understanding of US GAAP, general ledger postings, procurement processes, A/P, fixed assets, inventory through disbursement, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong communication
  • Attention to detail



  • Fixed assets experience in manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience

  • Physical requirements associated with normal office working environment.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
