Postion Summary:

This position is responsible for the analysis of daily replenishment order exceptions and the maintenance of finished goods inventory planning parameters to manage distributor stocking levels. This position will monitor performance metrics impacting the customer and collaborate within Swagelok to resolve operational issues.  This position will proactively manage communication with our external distributors and internal teams to ensure we are continually improving and meeting our brand promise.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day replenishment of distributor stock by reviewing the exceptions where Swagelok is inventory constrained or other supply chain issues are present which prevent the supply chain plan from materializing
  • Manage the weekly review of planning parameters, item profiles, and distributor profiles to balance inventory objectives, customer service objectives, as well as transaction costs.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for distributor inventory planning issues. 
  • Facilitate ongoing CR performance review meetings with distributor management teams to review metrics in regards to the success of the program.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Distribution, and Logistics to determine how Swagelok can most efficiently serve each customer in the most cost-effective manner. 
  • Recommend changes to processes relative to customer feedback.  Demonstrate the capability to influence related departments.
  • Moderate understanding of manufacturing capabilities, limitations, and lead-times in providing solutions.  Is able to offer product alternatives when supply issues occur. 
  • Understands higher level corporate initiatives and strategic accounts, and offers solutions to problems of greater complexity that bridge multiple product groups or departments and demonstrate a broader understanding of the overall situation.  Makes recommendations for permanent resolutions to repeat problems. Basic understanding of distributor operating plans and marketing focus.
  • Exemplifies service orientation and consistently demonstrates proper customer service techniques.  Customers are consistently satisfied with their interactions.  Takes ownership of customer issues and efficiently navigates the internal organization in order to create solutions for customers.

  • Request new policies and/or policy changes as needed to maintain clear expectations between Swagelok and our distributors
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years supply chain/ customer service experience or 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.  .
  • Positive and action oriented personality with good problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in teams and learn and use multiple systems and processes to handle changing requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn how to use software applications and promote program with distributor personnel.




  • Previous experience with distributors/customers is preferred
  • Knowledge of MRP, Advanced Planning Systems, CRM, and Order Fulfillment processes is preferred
  • Strong relationships with Swagelok associates in Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Customer Service as well as our distributor network
