Service and Supply Chain Business Specialist


Postion Summary:

The Service & Supply Chain Business Specialist leverages their knowledge of Swagelok’s and the S&SCs’ supply chain processes and business systems to help drive the optimization of Swagelok’s overall supply chain in alignment with the company’s strategic goals. They are a central point of contact for SSCs and serve as a Service & Supply Chain resource to assist them with their supply chain goals, leveraging available data, technology and analytics.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a central point of contact for SSCs assisting them with their supply chain optimization efforts, leveraging available data, technology, and analytics. 
  • Demonstrates overall knowledge of Swagelok’s end to end supply chain including SSC order fulfillment activities; applies knowledge to achieve organizational impact.
  • Leads or participates in critical conversations with SSC leadership and sales team.
  • Understands and articulates business requirements, customer expectations and supply chain capabilities to provide direction to SSCs to achieve customer requirements.
  • Benchmarks similar supply chain processes and utilizes/shares best practices.
  • Develops sound business cases and recommends policy and procedure changes to leadership required to support new business processes.
  • Analyzes data to identify areas of continuous improvement opportunities that are in line with our strategic goals, working cross functionally along with SSCs.
  • Supports SSCs with their customer projects by providing order or inventory management strategy recommendations and best practices that enable a reliable long-term solution.
  • Leads supply chain performance meetings (MTS/XTO) with SSC management teams to discuss supply chain opportunities and KPIs to drive an effective execution of supply chain strategies. 
  • Effective at preparing and communicating complex concepts that are easily understood by all audiences.
  • Position may require off hours support to assist international locations.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent

Experience: 5+ years of business experience 


  • 3+ years of experience in previous supply chain/customer service positions
  • Knowledge & understanding of supply chain concepts, processes and business systems  
  • Possesses cultural competence and empathy  
  • Some experience with project management methodology
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Experience with analytical tools




  • 5+ years of supply chain/customer service positions
  • Previous experience with distributors/customers; high-level knowledge & understanding of S&SC business practices and tools
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge of MRP, Advanced Planning Systems, CRM, and Order Fulfillment processes
