Position Summary: 

Position requires collaboration with all support groups, (scheduling, supervision, management, RX, lean, warehouse and shop floor associates). In this position the associate has the skill and ability to recognize the need for and escalate process improvements to standard work that reduce cost and/or improve quality and delivery.  The set up associate with be responsible for maintaining and utilizing order tracking systems. (SAP reports, schedules etc). They will be responsible for communicating information that would negatively affect PvA , other metrics or shipment of orders. At this level they are able to make significant improvements to existing processes and to develop new processes to address unique / complex needs.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

This associate must understand the assembly processes from an ASO1 – ASO4, have excellent trouble shooting skills, be able to multi task and possess leadership qualities. 

 

  • Live / Support the Swagelok Values 

  • Build shift to shift communication and collaboration  

  • Support associates in achieving changeover time goals 

  • Help to conduct start-up meetings as needed (communicate information to supervisors that need to be covered at shift start up, help in putting together shift start up (question of the day, part of the day….) 

  • Identify work centers that have BO’s, orders due today, so to prioritize to avoid Broken Promises  

  • Schedule associates at appropriate work centers 

  • Print and distribute schedules  

  • Submit RX requests – follow up 

  • Manage Quality Notification   

  • Participate in CA’s 

  • Submit deviations 

  • Perform first article approvals as needed  

  • Escalate to supervisors when problems arise 

  • Address safety concerns / complete appropriate form, notify supervisor  

  • Respond to operator escalation 

  • Address downtime immediately, escalate when necessary 

  • Perform SILs (Short Interval Leadership) in absence of supervisor or as needed 

  • Assist in shop floor support in ordering items needed within the department 

  • Monitor Changeover progress 

  • Perform IPI 

  • Communicate with oncoming support team for department status.  

  • Lead and participate in department events (Kaizan, CEDAC….) 

  • Manage emails  / communication with support groups  

  • Associate recognition 

  • Team Building - Assist motivate and encourage team members  

  • Maintain consistent product flow 

  • Review and update standard work / submit 

  • Monitor scrap and return to stock.  

  • Perform daily audits to ensure standard work compliance 

 

 

Education & or Work requirements: 

Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED 

  • Assembly experience and knowledge of the product/process. 

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions 

  • Able to recognize functional and cosmetic defects 

  • Responsible for the assembly, testing, and packaging of product.   

  • Requires the use of assembly equipment, Control, CWI and standard work.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift boxes on a regular basis between 25 - 35 pounds and occasionally between 35 - 50 pounds.  Considerable standing, stooping and bending is required.
