Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer(AQIL) is a key change agent that drives quality improvements across the organization.  A successful AQIL will identify and drive a quality culture and quality improvements through auditing, managing quality projects, administering corrective actions and providing training on tools such as the DPS process.  The ultimate goal of the AQIL is to deliver on the brand promise of Zero Customer Disappointments.
 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Method Ownership - For a given Quality Methodology, has a working knowledge of the company's current state practices.  
•    Able to request projects, develop plans, and implement improvements to our quality methodologies.  
•    Coordinates with other subject matter experts for a given Quality Methodology to monitor the current state and drive future improvements.
•    Participate in the integration of our quality and business process management systems.
•    Partner with improvement leaders in other functional areas to ensure inputs from customers and outputs from operations are focused on ZCD.  
•    Utilize and drive standardization of leading indicator metrics to drive external performance.  
•    Lead Disciplined Problem Solving (DPS) events.  Demonstrate sound root-cause thinking and problem solving skills.
•    Utilize quality expertise and lean kaizen facilitation skills to drive improvements.
•    Train and mentor associates in the application of disciplined problem solving, the Swagelok Quality System, Swagelok Improvement System and Continuous Improvement Methods.  
•    Leads teams to deliver results on tactical quality efforts.
•    Participate in the assessment, contracting, and execution of improvement projects.
•    Improves quality systems across the enterprise, including distributorships.  
•    Process ownership and KPI maintenance, development, analysis, and tracking from executive to local levels throughout the organization.  
•    Implements & improves quality culture programs at Swagelok.
•    Engages with engineers, supervisors, and managers to drive methods and systems that deliver on the brand promise of Zero Customer Disappointments.  
•    Presents and facilitates functional meetings and influences associates on project teams.  
•    Adherence and alignment with the corporate quality and continuous improvement department and roadmap.  
 


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required:
•    Bachelor’s degree 
•    3-5 years of experience in quality, engineering, or a technical field with a problem solving, continuous improvement, or quality focus.
•    Functional understanding of multiple business processes including Quality Assurance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering & Technology and Information Services.
•    Organizational, planning, and communication skills.  
•    Proven problem solving capabilities.  
•    Computer and office software skills.  

Preferred:
•    Bachelors degree in engineering or technical field    
•    Advanced business or technical degree and formal training / certification in project management, quality management, or six-sigma.
